South Chickamauga Creek 3 & 4 Interceptor Rehabilitation

Chattanooga, TN

This interceptor rehabilitation will structurally rehabilitate the interceptors and underground structures and eliminate or reduce inflow and infiltration (I/I) in the aging infrastructure. Pipeline rehabilitation will be accomplished almost entirely by cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) methodology, with the possibility of some isolated point repairs.

Project Details

WK Dickson was originally enlisted to provide engineering services for interceptors 3 and 4. This project consists of evaluation and rehabilitation of approximately 7,850 LF of 72-inch interceptor and 16 manholes. In 2020, an additional phase was added to include rehabilitation of approximately 3,400 LF of 84-inch sewer, nine manholes, and a junction chamber where flows combine from a 36-inch interceptor and the 72-inch interceptor into the 84-inch interceptor.  These projects structurally rehabilitate the interceptors and underground structures and eliminate or reduce inflow and infiltration (I/I) in the aged infrastructure. Pipeline rehabilitation was accomplished almost entirely by cured in-place pipe (CIPP) methodology, with the possibility of some isolated point repairs. WK Dickson is providing construction administration and resident project representation (RPR) at the Friar Branch Interceptor and the South Chickamauga Creek Interceptor.
