Pump Station Emergency Generators

Our technical and funding experts’ team has been working with Seabrook Island Utility Commission (SIUC) for over five years as a trusted consultant on utility evaluations and improvements. Over those years, WK Dickson has been successful time and again in helping SIUC acquire over $5M in funding initiatives from FEMA and CWSRF.

Project Details

WK Dickson assisted SIUC in completing a FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Application in response to failures from the existing pump stations during Hurricane Irma. The almost $400,000 in awarded grant funds are being used to install six 240 kW diesel generators at six pump stations to provide electrical power to the wastewater pumps at each station. The project also includes the installation of appropriately sized automatic transfer switches for each station, which will switch the main electrical feed to the station from the normal service line provided by the power company to the diesel generators during a power outage.
