Senior Civil Designer, W. K. Dickson & Co., Inc., Marietta, Georgia. May telecommute 1 day a week. Analyze and organize project data with accuracy, neatness and timeliness. Utilize appropriate software applications. Assist with project controls and documentation processes. Work from sketches, notes and other input material to produce computer generated graphs, charts, overlays and completed drawings. Complete finished product with limited direction from project manager. Understand and follow company standard CAD procedures for layering, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout. Suggest improvements to standard procedures. Develop construction documentation for projects and field inspections. Develop and maintain Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Search, investigate, and select technical reference data pertinent to a project. Prepare and assist with developing project computations, estimates, surveys, statistics, and designs. Prepare and calculate off-site data, such as; traffic volumes, water and wastewater demands, permitting documents, planning and zoning applications and storm water runoff control devices. Deliver projects to clients. Maintain technical coordination with staff. Mentor designers. Maintain positive communication with staff, clients and subcontractors. Follow general instructions and company policies and procedures. Comply with all company safety policies and rules. Perform standard and complex design tasks, requiring the operation and application of computer aided design equipment and sketches. Perform standard, complex and non-routine design tasks that require extensive skill and knowledge of CAD applications and modeling. Support project managers with respect to utilizing CAD, complex mathematical analysis, calculations and general project organization.
Requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or related field or foreign equivalent. Requires one (1) year: utilizing Microsoft Excel; AutoCAD; preparing statistical reports; communicating civil design ideas and technical information to staff, supervisors and clients. Requires minimal domestic travel within 60-mile radius or less to client sites. All hires must submit to a background check. M-F, 40 hours per week.
