Henderson Drive Lift Station

Originally constructed in the 1950’s to convey wastewater from homes and businesses in northern Jacksonville, the Henderson Drive Lift Station is a critical component of the City of Jacksonville’s wastewater collection system. After more than three decades of use, the Lift Station was plagued by capacity shortfalls, operational challenges, accessibility restrictions, and safety hazards. The City retained WK Dickson to develop alternatives to address the myriad problems facing the facility. The team’s innovative design converted the existing station into a submersible configuration, while maintaining the existing structure and its various components. This creative configuration ultimately reduced project development time by three months and resulted in a net capital budget savings for the City of approximately $500,000.
