Cape Fear Community College Safety Training Center
The Cape Fear Community College Safety Training Center consists of approximately 21,000 SF of classroom facilities, a seven story drill tower, a tear gas building, a fire apparatus driver training pad, a truck driver training pad, an apparatus / maintenance facility, a residential style burn training building, an extrication pad, compressed gas simulation pad with simulation pad and control / safety tower, a commercial style burn training building, and other support and miscellaneous facilities. WK Dickson provided complete surveying and site engineering including a grading and erosion control plan, access driveways and parking lots, stormwater drainage system, water and sanitary sewer, landscaping, and irrigation. The facility serves as a regional fire simulation and emergency extraction training center. The adjacent truck driver train pad serves the school with facilities for tractor-trailer training and regional police driver training.
