WK Dickson Awarded Major Wastewater Project with Brunswick County, NC

October 19th, 2017

WK Dickson’s water and wastewater group has been awarded a contract with Brunswick County for design through construction phase services to provide wastewater transmission, treatment, and effluent infiltration basin capacity to the West Brunswick Regional Wastewater System.

The project includes a 750,000 gpd non-discharge wastewater facility located at the site of the existing Shallotte WWTP; a high-level master plan for the City of Southport wastewater service area; 10.5 miles of force main to convey flow to the West Brunswick Regional Water Reclamation Facility; and the addition of two new water master meters to serve the Rivermist subdivision near Southport.

This infrastructure will provide a long-term, sustainable solution for wastewater transmission, treatment, and disposal for Southport and the surrounding area and will enable responsible development and continued system capacity in one of the state’s most pristine coastal regions. Brunswick County has long been a valued client of ours, and we are looking forward to helping them and the City of Southport get this project underway.
