WK Dickson announces key promotions to coincide with its upcoming 90th anniversary
WK Dickson & Co., Inc, is excited to announce several key leadership promotions that will transition over the next 12 months. Beginning in 2019, coinciding with the firm’s 90th anniversary, David Pond, PE, will assume the role of president. In addition, Scott Whalen, PE, will become the firm’s chief operating officer (COO). David Peeler, PE will continue serving as the firm’s CEO and chairman of the board.
Founded in Charlotte in 1929 by William Kenneth Dickson, the company operated mainly in water and wastewater engineering and land surveying throughout the Carolinas for much of its history. David Peeler purchased WK Dickson in 1984 and soon added aviation consulting services. David Pond joined the firm shortly thereafter in 1985 to help enhance the existing water and wastewater practice and to serve as COO. Scott Whalen, with WK Dickson since 1998, has been serving as the firm’s regional manager in Raleigh. He was also instrumental in expanding services that include stormwater engineering and watershed sciences.
“I could not be more proud of these two individuals and all they have accomplished, not only at WK Dickson but in the industry in general,” said David Peeler. “I am truly excited about the future of this company, and I look forward to continuing to work with them as we continue to grow our firm and build on our reputation of exceptional client service.”
