Phil Cannon Assumes New Role as Regional Practice Leader for Aviation
Phil Cannon is assuming a role as regional practice leader for aviation. In this role he will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing strategies to grow the company’s market presence in Georgia. Located in WK Dickson’s Atlanta office, Phil will build client and agency partnerships through business development efforts, leverage existing client relationships and business networks, and provide technical support to project managers.
Phil, who has been with WK Dickson since 2015, has spent his 37-year career solely focused on aviation. In his last decade with the FAA prior to coming to WK Dickson, Phil served as the manager of airport programs for the Atlanta Airports District Office (ADO) where he managed, on average, an annual $160 million-dollar AIP grant program. Within this role, he annually reviewed over one hundred projects for compliance with the AIP program. Phil has a wide-range network of contacts within the FAA and outside of the government where he served as the primary contact with high-level local, state and federal officials. Over the years, he has worked closely with hundreds of airport planners, engineers, environmentalists, consultants, airport authority members, and many other FAA lines of business.
“Phil’s unmatched network of contacts within the FAA and GDOT combined with his extensive knowledge gives him particular insight into airport funding and how to successfully implement critical airport improvement projects,” said Aviation Practice Leader Paul Smith, PE.
