GIVING BACK

Most believe that every corporation has an ethical obligation to contribute to various charitable organizations. WK Dickson feels the same way. Did you know that we consistently give back to a number of needy groups throughout the year? Below is a list of just some of the organizations that have benefited from the firm’s time, talent or treasure:

Water for People
Water for People logo WK Dickson has aligned with Water for People, an organization that helps people in developing countries improve quality of life by supporting the development of locally sustainable drinking water resources and sanitation facilities. In 2011 two members of WK Dickson's senior management staff will attempt to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa to help raise awareness to this important cause. Feeding America
Feeding America is the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Their mission is to feed America's hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage the country in the fight to end hunger. WK Dickson makes monitary donations during the Christmas season each year. In 2009 we donated enough money to purchase more than 2,000 pounds of food - enough to feed 100 people for nearly a month.

Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity International has built and rehabilitated more than 150,000 houses with families in need. WK Dickson has contributed financially to this organization as well as having several employees firm-wide who are actively involved in the building process.

St. Jude Children's Hospital
St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility anywhere. Discoveries made their have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Because of donations, no one pays for treatment beyond what is covered by insurance, and those without insurance are never asked to pay. WK Dickson's company holiday card program supports this charity with 90% of the proceeds going directly to St. Jude's.

Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is an international movement known for its evangelical, social and charitable work. They seek to bring Christian values to the poor, destitute and hungry by meeting both their physical and spiritual needs, but its ministry extends to all, regardless of ages, sex, color or creed.. Like some of our other programs, WK Dickson's company holiday card supports this charity with 90% of the proceeds going directly to the Salvation Army.

Toys for Tots
WK Dickson has been a major regional contributor to this important mission for the last five years. In fact we have received a personal “thank you” from John W. Bergam, Commandant of the United States Marine Corps for our firm-wide efforts. Since 2003 we have generously donated nearly 1,500 toys and games to Toys for Tots. That’s an average of nearly 3 toys from every employee over a 6 year period.

Dress-Down Days
It may seem like just a small thing - paying $5 to be able to dress down one day per month. But our employees average more than $2500 per year to dress ultra-casual. Unlike our other giving programs, dress-down days allow each regional office to choose the local charity of their choice. Organizations benefiting from this program include:
